Wrestling Belts

If you are reading this article you have at one time contemplated on buying a wrestling belt. Now we aren't talking about those cheap plastic WWE kids wrestling belts (go here to buy kids belts), oh no, we are talking about those full sized gold sparkling replica belts that weigh down your shoulder and look so spectacular you want to take a bite out of them. Nothing compares to holding an exact copy of the TNA or WWE World Title held by your favorite star, but it can be quite complicated to understand all the industry jargon and what you are actually buying. We are here to tell you exactly why certain belts cost $500 and what all the wrestling belt terms mean. We'll then give you some price comparisons and details on how not to get ripped off by con merchants. Like all replica businesses, there are people out there that want to fob you off with poor quality. We are here to give you the Truth about replica wrestling belts.

Reggie Parks & Dave Millican

At the top of the food chain are Reggie Parks and Dave Millican. These are the men that actually make the real belts you see on TV and for 90% of the pro wrestling promotions around the world. They will set you back around $3,000 and are made of 24 carrot Gold with proper leather straps and acid etched details. It is extremely rare to come across one of these on Ebay and if you'd like to buy one you need to visit their official website DaveMillicanBelts.com. Pricing and details are extremely complicated if you don't represent a wrestling organization so most fans and collectors stick to quality replicas not the real deal. A lot of replicas come very close to these standards and are a fraction of the price.

Adult Replica Belts

Next inline come the official replica adult sized, deluxe and ultra deluxe wrestling belts that most collectors and hardcore fans buy. All of these are the real size (not necessarily weight), come with leather straps and up to 4mm thick metal plates. All of the details are completely replicated and if bought firsthand (it would be a sin to buy one second hand) usually come with some form of carry case. Quality and features vary within each class so read on for more details.

Adult Replica wrestling belts are the basic form of replica belt after the toy versions. They are the real size, are made with metal from the real belt's mold and come with 2mm thick plates. The main difference is that the strap is simulated leather, usually a combination of foam and other materials. They are awesome looking, durable and make the perfect belt for a present or to take to live events. These don't usually break the $350 mark unless they are replicas of old school belts.

Currently the top selling belt in this range is John Cena's Spinner World Title. We found it cheapest here: Adult WWE Spinner Championship Belt for $349. It measures 4 feet 9 inches long and weighs aprroximately 7 1/2 pounds. The Strap is made of new and improved simulated leather mounted on a three dimensional spinning WWE logo center plate.

Deluxe Wrestling Belts

Deluxe wrestling belts are the next step up and come with real quality leather straps. These are ideal for the fan that likes that extra bit of perfection. I personally like these as the real leather makes it seem less of an imitation, but the price may not be feasible for a child. Again they use 2mm thick plates and are molded from the real thing. A Deluxe wrestling belt will cost in the range of $350 to $400.

Who said ECW was dead? The most popular title in the deluxe range is CM Punk's ECW Heavyweight Championship. It can be purcahsed for a great $399 here:
Deluxe ECW World Heavyweight Title Belt (2007 Version).

Ultra Deluxe Wrestling Belts

Ultra Deluxe wrestling belts are the granddaddy of them all and are made with a whopping set of 4mm thick plates like the real deal. They come with the highest quality leather straps and have a certain sparkle about them that the other titles don't seem to have. A serious collector wouldn't be without a series of ultra deluxe wrestling belts. Being top end, these belts will set you back between $550 to $600.

Vintage is the word in the Ultra Deluxe range, as currently number one in fans collections is the classic Winged Eagle Heavyweight Title belt. This beauty found cheapest here:
Deluxe WWE Classic Winged Eagle World Title Belt will set you back a nice $599! Well worth it though. It weighs a whopping 11 pounds!

Buying Wrestling Belt Tips

There are a couple of other things you need to now before thrusting yourself in to the wonderful world of belt collecting so use these quick tips if you buy from a store that isn't one of our trusted links above:

- Ignore the price, the first thing you need to look for is whether it is an (Adult Replica) (Deluxe) or (Ultra Deluxe). Do not buy one because the price represents what the quality should be, make sure it says what the quality is!
- Some collectors get annoyed when the plate bolts go through the leather and the plate. There isn't usually a way to know if you'll receive a belt with the leather covering the bolts or not, but the higher end belts usually cover them. If you are using Ebay ask the seller.
- Don't expect a carry case unless it says so. Some come in throw away packaging others come in zip up cases. You can always buy one separately.
- The foam straps can become cracked or bubbled under stress so steer away from second hand "Adult Replicas" and remember not to abuse them.
- Older, discontinued or old school (e.g. the old WWF winged eagle belts) usually cost more. Sometimes you may also find a custom made belt on the market which may go for more than the regulars.
